Our Co-Founders Suzy & Jonathan Hobbs are proud to announce they were installed as Wardens of The Gin Guild as Brand Owners of Mr Hobbs Gin, and were amongst the new members joining The Gin Guild and taking their oath at The Mansion House, London on 11th October 2019.
The Gin Guild brings together gin distillers and industry leaders involved in the production, promotion, distribution and consumption of gin. It promotes and encourages commitment to excellence in gin distillation and industry custodianship of the spirit category.
Gin Guild members include senior representatives of the major distillers, as well as those from medium-sized and craft distillers, journalists, sales and marketing and brand advisors, promoters, bar owners and cocktail experts, spirits packaging consultants and professional advisers. There is strength that comes from belonging to the Gin Guild and from being able to form connections across what is a global industry.
The Gin Guild is helping to nurture a vibrant and diverse gin category, to the benefit of us all. We look forward to meeting others in the industry, and in particular attending the Guild’s many events and benefitting from the advice and materials in the Guild website.
The Guild installation and the unique opportunity to also attend the subsequent event hosted by the Guild’s parent company, the Worshipful Company of Distillers was unforgettable and a privilege to attend. The Worshipful Company of Distillers is one of London’s old historical livery bodies. It was originally granted the right to supervise distilling in London in 1638 by Royal Charter. Attending their event showed how they remain relevant even today.
The Guild represents the international gin industry as a whole and aims to promote gin across the globe. Members range from start-ups and entrepreneurs to long-established companies with international brands. Our membership is uniquely placed to promote and defend the interests and integrity of the Gin category.
We are grateful to The Gin Guild and everything they offer as an organisation, we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with them and the other members.
