Is it time to up your locktail game? We aren’t quite sure if we are coming or going, staying in or allowed out? But one thing is for sure, happy hour starts at 5pm and no one can taint that with ambiguity.

Here’s a few ideas to titivate your set up at home (or in the garden- British weather permitting!) and hopefully spark a little joy in the most unprecedented of times.

Check out this John Lewis & Partners Pineapple Cocktail Shaker – 25 £’s of pure happiness. If your shaker is shaped like a pineapple, you can’t help but smile. Perfect for whipping up a medley of pretty much whatever you have left in the cabinet.

These Tom Dixon plum martini glasses are NOT cheap but you WILL feel like a futuristic James Bond while using them. Shaken by the price but not completely stirred- *adds to Wishlist*. You could serve our Thames Bank Martini up in one of these and all will feel well in the world.

THAMES BANK MARTINI

A true martini in name and taste. Mr Hobbs Gin is deliciously aromatized through the wine & vermouth, highlighting the zesty citrus & floral notes of the botanical spirits.

INGREDIENTS:

60ml Mr Hobbs Gin

15ml Elderflower liqueur 15ml White wine (Chardonnay)

7.5ml Dry Vermouth

HOW TO CREATE:

Place all ingredients into an ice filled shaker, shake and fine strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

EMBELLISH:

Cucumber slice or fan.

How about a smattering of these divine Rose Petals from Fortnum & Mason to pimp your prosecco? A dash of Mr Hobbs fruit flavour gin liqueur, in a glass of bubbly with a couple of these for instant ‘instagrammable’ gratification.

Some drink-spiration in the form of a book will offer light relief and is bound to cause a thirst with this collection in Glamorous Cocktails available to purchase here via the Liberty London website. This portfolio promises to ‘celebrate the most magnificent, classic and expertly-crafted mixological creations to be found around the British capital.

In the words of author William Yeoward: “Cocktails come in such a huge variety that there’s something for everyone and for every possible occasion – a birthday celebration, an anniversary, a first date, the closure of a deal or a surreptitious flirt.” This book takes the reader on a visit across five of London’s chicest drinking establishments, gleaning tips from the city’s most in-the-know bartenders to help you bring a little cocktail bar magic to your own home drinking setting.’ Oh go on then, if everyone else is having one!

Summer is served.

Hang in there everyone and try to Keep Calm & Carry on Cocktail Making!

We are still online, and all our products are available via the website. We look forward to updating you with more news and exciting plans for the Mr Hobbs 150- due to launch at a later date than expected now but just remember, good things come to those who wait.

Stay safe & healthy.
